Update 1.0.0

Devouring Deep (1.1.0)
A downloadable game for Windows

I am happy to announce that the paid version of this game is HERE! The game has a lot more to go as far as development, but it is definitely in a state where I could comfortably charge for the experience.

(NOTE that the story is still in development and there is no end currently)

New Stuff:

  • PAID ONLY: Stretchmarks~ now when you feed the Queen 10% or more of her total weight, she gets a stuffed-and-stretched looking belly and a pained expression until the next time you enter the dungeon, then for the next few visits, her stretch marks will stay until they eventually fade. The amount of time it takes for them to go away is dependant on exactly how much you’ve overfed her. She even has stuff to say about them depending on how quickly she’s gained weight (and therefor, how deep and angry the stretchmarks are perceived). THIS IS OPTIONAL and could be turned off at the start of the game.
  • PAID ONLY: Added 2 more weight stages to the Queen
  • PAID ONLY: Added 7 more floors to the dungeon
    • After Floor 12, you’ll be brought back to the Boss arena, and it will keep looping from Boss Arena, to F11 and F12, and back to the Boss Arena until you go upstairs to the castle. The enemies will continue to get more difficult (and yield more and more resources) until you exit the dungeon.
      • This is a temporary mechanic until I fully implement the rest of the dungeon.
  • Added the option to allow the Queen’s weight to restart every time you enter the dungeon (This will make enemies even harder to fight because their difficulty inversely scales with the Queen’s weight. HOWEVER. You could have lots of fun re-stuffing her again and again and again.)
  • The farther down you go, the more items enemies drop.
  • Added a HUD that shows your Blessings and your “Score” (it’s basically the Queen’s weight but I don’t want people complaining at me that her visual weight is inaccurate to her number weight lol.. I’ve essentially automated the process of how her sprite changes, so I don’t really know what weight she’ll actually be at at any particular stage. But it is nice to judge how much she’s eaten.)
  • Added 1 secret shop and 3 secret items
  • Added 4 new dungeon events
    • 3 of which are PAID ONLY
  • Added 3 more regular shops to the castle
    • 9 new armors
    • 6 new weapons
    • 8 new accessories
  • 2 new bosses
  • 3 new enemies
  • 18 new recipes
  • 3 new eating sounds
  • Added 2 different random obstacles to spawn in the dungeon
  • Added a warning before entering a Boss Arena
  • Added cutscenes after your first time beating a Boss Arena after every 5 floors (up to 2 times).

Changes:

  • Overhauled how the Queen’s weight works. Before, her weight stage would change every +10% of her whatever previous weight stage threshold was. Now her weight stage changes a solid +10 pounds each time. Say she weighed 100 pounds. Her next growth stage would be at 110 pounds, then at 130 pounds, then, 160 pounds, and so forth. This will over all allow visual weight gain to happen at a more consistent pace, rather than being ludicrously expensive at late stages of the game
  • Edited some Dungeon floors
  • Changed some enemy behaviour
  • Enemy spawn rates are now effected by game difficulty- making harder modes more difficult but rewarding
  • Made chance of Thunder striking more times dependant on the user’s Luck
  • Made enemies a little tougher- they aren’t stronger per se, they just have more health.
  • Did a bunch of item sorting, navigating your inventory and recipe menus shouldn’t be such a hassle anymore.
  • Made Raw Bacon a little less of a hassle to get your hands on
  • Fiddled around with food icons a little (Making the star ranking system more efficient)
  • Separated the options for Eating, Burping, and Digestion sounds

Bug Fixes:

  • Floor 4 was bugged so 2 of the floors down sent you right back to Floor 4, that has been fixed.
  • You could now exit out of the Element upgrades menu, and the variable referenced in her dialogue if you don’t have enough Blessings has been corrected.
