Hey everyone! This is Kailoulou, producer and one of the two directors on Blind Date! We’re still alive, still hard at work, and we’ve got some exciting things coming!
Today, we want to talk about our vision for the game and what you can expect in the upcoming pre-alpha *expected* this spring! (We're still an all volunteer project)
Our Vision:
Buckett and I want you to fall in love with Bianca and understand her wholistically. Our vision is to capture the magic that made us fall in love with I Wani Hug That Gator and Snoot Game. Both of them wild, absurd dating experiences where dino girls turn out to be way more nuanced than expected.
We want Blind Date to be a love letter to the community that has formed around these games, while also exploring new themes and ideas. What exactly are those? Well… that would be spoiling our story...
Creating an Engaging Story:
A big part of this love letter is bringing visual storytelling to life. While we’re not going full animation, we want the world of St. Hammond to feel alive and active—giving you that feeling of getting to know a nuanced and complicated dino girl.
To achieve this, we’re packing the game with plenty of CGs to enhance key moments. Our dedicated CG artist is hard at work crafting expressive scenes that will be featured throughout the game, including in our playable pre-alpha!
Of course, great writing goes hand in hand with great visuals. We’ve rewritten the story countless times to make sure it stays true to our vision—because every scene should make you feel something.
