I wanted to share an early look at a new city track I've started working on in Max Attack. This one has been really fun to make and a good challenge to balance out appropriate light levels and where to concentrate detail and color. There's a noticeable difference in brightness and visibility when you play the game full screen versus viewing it on a website, but I'm happy with how it looks in game. This track also does a better job showing off the sky blended fog I mentioned in previous posts.
I just started adding little pockets of life in the sprawling metropolis below, but overall the main city is going to stay relatively dark with bits of detail to catch your eye and maintain scale. You'll notice scale being a reoccurring theme in a lot of the tracks going forward.
Turns out this is a pretty fun track to race on too, the double jumps split up the track in an interesting way and the back side has some tough angles to negotiate. If you watch the video, you can see me flub them pretty hard on the 2nd lap, but figure it out on the third.
