Dev Diary 10 - Managers

Factory Default: Build, Trade, Repeat
A downloadable game for Windows

Managers had an interesting start considering where they ended up. But first a bit of background:

It was my original intention to have the player control the number of workers, their wage, and their benefits in any given building. This would in turn change the employee satisfaction. If it got too low, they would all quit and the building would shut down.
The fix was Managers, who would adjust personnel quantities as well as wages and benefits to keep everyone happy.

The math got away from me, and it was too hard for the managers to keep up. Buildings were turning off and on and off and on over and over. A bit of a drag. So that's when I just made static amounts of employees, wages, and benefits for each building type. Perhaps eventually employee satisfaction will come back, but in a different way.

In the mean time, the manager's only job is to sell whatever merchandise doesn't fit in the warehouse.

Which sounds all well and good except for those items that take forever to generate. It means that it could be months before seeing profits if you rely on your managers.

Currently, this is how it works, but eventually I want to add a way for the player to decide if they want the manager to wait for a full warehouse, or if they want to keep the warehouses clear. (Or maybe a half option?)
