Community Update 1

Hazel the Bartender
A downloadable game for Windows

Hello

I have some general announcements. I want to thank everyone for the positive and valuable feedback. We are working on the 0.3 update, I wanted to release it on Feb 1'st, but for a bunch of reasons we are expecting at least another couple weeks of development.

We want to make Hazel into a fully-fledged game. During the game jam, our priority was to make content as fast as possible, however we have shifted from Quantity to Quality.  Because of this, I am cleaning the code from the ground up, I've also been preparing Patreon, Kickstarter, and the Discord server. Coding progress will be slow while I deal with personal Finances. I'm trying to work 12 hour shifts on door dash to get ahead of bills, because I work best when I can sit down all day to code. 

Bleergh has made a fantastic new character, I wont spoil too much, but we are going to try for longer, more interactive sex scenes. 

0.3 Expected Features

A Main Menu with a proper Settings, Level select, and unlocked Sex Scene viewer.

Moving the drink preperation into the bar! Moving to and from the kitchen kills momentum, this will be a design challenge, but I feel it's worth streamlining the flow of the game. 

Gameplay with more directive. The new objective is to fulfill a crowd of customer's orders to keep them happy while also making a special character happy. 

A better tutorial and a help menu for player reference on how to interact with specific objects

Roadmap Features

Cooking, i don't know exactly how it will work.

Dialogue, yeah this is pretty time consuming, but it's a staple in games for good reason. 

Story will require dialogue

Bar Managment, I want to create a system where you can buy equipment and inventory for the bar with money made from running the bar.

Minigames, bar games to play, darts? Pinball? idk sounds like a fun side project.

some settings i want to work on is a resolution selector, Color Blind Accessibility options, and Key Rebinding(this is a tough one)

Better Physics, I want items to carry momentum and collide realistically (not with other objects of course), this will be a mini rebuild in and of itself, which is why its not a priority

I want to go through each sex scene and work on the SFX more, I know i didn't give each scene equal work.

Kickstarter:

I want to finish the 0.3 update before launching the Kickstarter, I feel there are many improvements in this coming update that would make the game 10x more enjoyable.

Patreon:

I don't really have content for Patreon right now, I can offer sneak peeks of art. there is no "early access" build I can give supporters, and I'd be shooting myself in the foot if I didn't release the 0.3 update in tandem with launching the Kickstarter. I do have some ideas however, Technical Devlogs that showcase how the inside of the game works is something i'd like to do, Patreon Exclusive sex scenes would also be a strong potential.
