SUBSURFACE 1.1 update
Hello operatives. I've just released a small update to the SUBSURFACE action horror RPG. This features several small corrections and rule adjustments, namely:
- Improvements to the text for clarity and ease of reading throughout, including alphabetising enemies.
- The critical hit rules for combat have been simplified: deal +1 damage for every 6 rolled, if you roll more than one.
- The in darkness condition has been changed: use your lowest result rolled on challenges while in darkness, instead of your highest. So rolling 1 dice isn't affected that much, but this means you don't need to do any temporary subtractions from scores. I'm going to test this a bit more in practice and this may revert to the original rule of reducing all attributes by 1, to a minimum of 0, based on feedback.
- The bedroll item allows rolling for health regain twice and taking the higher value while resting.
- The decimator boss's special boss ability has limited uses, instead of being triggered every round.
