A browser game made in HTML5

it’s not been a great start to 2025. I’ve been dealing with mental health issues, and just yesterday, a big artistic influence of mine passed away. I’m not in a good headspace.

so why did I decide to join not one, but TWO game jams? distraction, I guess. something else to focus on. i can’t keep living in this headspace forever.

the theme for the jam is “you are a weapon” - not my first choice, but a good challenge. i think I managed to land on something, but time will tell if I can execute.

this game will be the first time I’ve implemented flags into any of my games. i followed a good tutorial from zeil learnings that explained the concepts very clearly. so far, my sample code is working correctly, and I hope I can keep that up for the rest of the game.

my biggest hurdle is going to be scope creep and writer’s block, I think. there’s a lot I can explore with this concept, but since I need to get this completed before global game jam, I need to make sure it’s done by this coming Friday, latest. the general outline I have helps, but I’m worried that I’ll try to make things more elaborate than they need to be. worse, that the story won’t work. I’ll just have to see.

more later.
