Divvying Up Time

Growth
A downloadable game

Good afternoon you lovely peeps!

So I've been busy beavering away on Growth and should have a new Dev Log soonish!

I have taken some time to assess the time its going to take to build Growth though and realized this is no small project. Amazingly this isn't due to feature creep or scope creep or anything, just making fun levels for a platformer takes a lot of time!

As a result I recently decided that Growth is going to be my Big Project. Something I work on for a while, but in the indie scene when you don't have any kind of financial backing a long term project isn't exactly viable. As a result I've settled on the idea of making smaller, easier to build projects while working on Growth. These will allow me to continue to put out projects for people to enjoy, build my name up as a Game Developer, improve my skills and (as I hope to stay within Godot for most projects) improve my speed at which I work within the engine (which will feedback into Growth).

I currently have 2 smaller projects lined up.

First up Fishy Capers is finally getting a game! Fishy what? Years ago I made some mockup images for a silly crime visual novel where you play Sir Steven Pennington, a playboy Batchelor who fancies himself as a detective...he also has a fish for a head.

This project is currently in the writing phase as it's a VN it lives and dies by the writing, and I've brought on the help of a good friend to write the script for me. So at some point you'll all get to be fishy detective in Fishy Capers: Gill'ty Until Proven Innocent!

So in the mean time that means I can work on the second smaller project; Liminaut!

Liminaut is a dream/weird core inspired exploration game in which you will explore surreal places, catalogue unusual things, and maybe run into a hostile thing or two in the dreamscape born out of the world conscious you've been tasked with traversing.

The game is VERY early into production but is making really fast headway due to embracing a low-poly messy photo texture style which has allowed me to make assets super fast.

You can check out Liminaut's itch page HERE!

So yeah, there we have it! Bit of an update just so people know what's going on if they see me working on stuff other than Growth sometimes :) I hope you'll all join me on this journey and the best way to do so other than following me on here is to follow me on Threads!

Anywho, enough babbling!
Thanks for reading!
