The Spirit Engine DX is going commercial
After a full year of development in 2024 and getting involved with the original developers Mark Pay & Josh Whelchel, we are making the ultimate decision to go commercial! It's surreal to be collaborating with my childhood role models 2 decades later!
That means…go wishlist the game on Steam! Right now!
It's also the reason why I switched off the ability to donate to the game on the 23rd of November, 2024. Again, thanks to those who chimed in a bit of coin & support! It means a lot. Once the game is out on Steam and has received at least 10 reviews, I will turn on the ability to purchase a No-DRM version of the game here, with a Steam key included.
Roadmap:
- Ongoing bugfixes, quality-of-life and game feel improvements
- Implement all remaining cutscenes
Hailey's Glen Trouble
- All 9 character intros
- The Sheltered Glade
- En-route to Pansylvania
- The Frozen Waste
- The Inky Pit
- Hanash Basin
- The Ralton Express
- The Blazing Sands
- Boardroom
- Endings
- Revamp all remaining large art assets for large resolutions
- Tutorialisation
- Multiple save slots
- Revamped menus and UI
- Game over screen with context-sensitive defeat tips
- Polished demo
- Revamp 1v1 fights into 3v3 fights
- The original 1v1 fights are not very good in hindsight from a design perspective, as they are in essence interactive cutscenes and the gameplay for Clara & Clementas is unfun
- Aegin and Tza Tze as helpers at final boss
- Final boss revamp (make Life Drain, Lasso, Rock Rain and Power Shot viable)
- Achievements
