Dev Blog: Multiplayer Mode Update + New Ideas!

Hey Defusal Team!

We’re thrilled to share some exciting updates about the game! Multiplayer mode is now available, letting you team up with friends to tackle the intense challenge of bomb defusal. While we’re still working on built-in lobbies, you can jump into the action right now by playing together locally or connecting over Discord.

How Multiplayer Works (For Now)

• At Home: Sit down together with two laptops, assign roles, and work as a team to complete the bomb’s nodes.
• Online: Join a Discord call, assign roles, and start your own games. The Defuser interacts with the bomb while the Guide provides instructions from their screen.

We’re already working toward adding built-in lobbies in a future update to streamline this experience!

What’s Next?

We’re always thinking of new ways to make the game even more fun and challenging. Here’s what’s in the works:

• New Game Nodes: We’re designing fresh, brain-bending puzzles to keep you guessing.
• Built-In Multiplayer Lobbies: No more workarounds—soon, you’ll be able to join a lobby and play with your friends directly in the game.

New Game Mode Idea: Divide and Defuse

We’re brainstorming a new multiplayer game mode where everyone gets part of the bomb but doesn’t have the right instructions for their section. You’ll need to rely on each other to swap information and solve the bomb as a team! This mode will crank up the communication and teamwork to a whole new level.
