Hello everyone!

I’m incredibly excited to introduce my new tarot card pack, a project deeply inspired by the elegance and timeless beauty of Renaissance oil paintings and the artistic movements that followed. This deck is a labor of love, a celebration of classical art reimagined in a mystical and symbolic form.

The Artistic Vision

When designing this tarot pack, I wanted each card to feel like a standalone masterpiece—a painting that could belong in a gallery, yet collectively forms a cohesive deck. Drawing heavily from the aesthetics of Renaissance and post-Renaissance oil paintings, I aimed to recreate the lush textures, intricate details, and masterful use of light and shadow that define that era.

Design Philosophy

• Artistic Inspiration: The Renaissance period has always fascinated me with its devotion to form, depth, and emotion. I translated this admiration into the tarot by giving each card a painterly feel, filled with warm tones, fine details, and a sense of timelessness.
• Individual Masterpieces: Each card is treated as a unique work of art. While the deck is unified by a consistent aesthetic, every card has its own identity, designed to evoke specific emotions and stories that align with its traditional meaning.
• Symbolic Depth: Alongside the visual artistry, the deck incorporates layers of symbolism inspired by mythology, esotericism, and personal interpretation. My goal was to blend the narrative depth of tarot with the evocative power of classical art.

The Creative Process

• Painting Technique: Each card was meticulously designed to mimic the texture and depth of oil on canvas, using digital tools that allowed for fine detailing and expressive brushstrokes.
• Color Palette: I leaned on rich, earthy tones contrasted with vibrant highlights, echoing the dramatic chiaroscuro technique prominent in Renaissance works.
• Composition: Inspired by the grandeur of Renaissance portraiture and biblical scenes, I focused on dynamic poses and intricate backgrounds to make each card feel alive.

What’s Next?

The journey doesn’t end here! I’m already working on completing the full deck and adding animations to bring the cards to life. These animations will enhance the mystical experience of using the deck, offering an immersive blend of art and divination.
