Introducing: Byte Bros.
A visual novel based on my short time working in “retail IT”, you take on the role of a new technician hired to help the local computer shop with for two reasons. The first being the influx of repairs due to Perfect Price’s Nerd Nation in-store IT service declining in quality and several locations shutting down. Back in 2002 when Perfect Price bought Nerd Nation into its stores, it was a boon to the Byte Brothers local shop. The second reason being the state of the store left by one of the brothers, Brody Bite. Brayden Bite left the store in 2007 to work in corporate IT, leaving Brody in charge. Over the years, the store’s sales and overall quality greatly declined, leaving Brody stressed and abusing substances. Last year, Brody had passed away, leading Brayden to return to the small town where it all started to fix the family business and attend to his brothers estate.
You’ll also meet two of Byte Bros technicians that have done their best to keep the shop a float over the years - Vanessa and Jameson. We will learn more about them as production moves along. You could possibly even romance them.
There’s so much more I want to attempt with this game and will reveal in the coming months through these dev logs. I’m not sure exactly how often these will come out, if it’s more of a like bi-weekly thing or just as I progress through development. I am doing everything - writing, coding, art, and music. It’ll be a large task, but I’m excited.
