Why is Summer For You being moved to 24 Jan, 2025?

Today we want to tell you more about the reason for postponing the full release of our game to January 24th, 2025. Many of you probably remember that we planned the release on December 13th (and at one time even on October 25th), but now the date has changed 2️⃣4️⃣❄️

Releases are often postponed in our favorite area of gamedev, and some players are not happy about it for obvious reasons. Developers are usually challenged with a dilemma:

1. Release a game on time, but not perfectly (and then run into negative reviews because of it) ⏱️
2. Postpone the release of a game to make a nice game (there will still be hate because of the postponement) 🚧

That is the dilemma that has no perfect solution. In either of these outcomes, there will be a number of dissatisfied players; losses due to a delayed release or losses due to the poor technical state of the game, as a result of which potential customers will not want to buy the product.

So why did we need to postpone the game's release as many as 2 times? 3 main reasons:

1. Large amount of artwork planned. And we mean not only scenes and character models, but also various cut-scenes, erotic cards, scene animations.
2. Game mechanics. We decided to rework some mechanics after feedback from players. It took a lot of time + we need additional time to build the whole project with all the content.
3. Debugging the game for errors and optimization. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR US THAT OUR GAME SHOULD BE PLAYED CORRECTLY!!!

Therefore, the decision to reschedule was difficult, but we prioritize the quality of the game over the speed of development. Yes, for financial reasons it would be better for us to release the game in December, during the peak of sales. But it would have affected the players' opinion about the technical state of the game and in the future would have turned into a disadvantage.
