Hey there and REJOICE!

WELL THAT WAS ROUGH.  I decided to try my hand at a shorter jam and this time stretch my story telling chops. it was...disjointed lol honestly the jam was called simplicity for a reason! I think I went over board but ideas just kept coming and I tried my best to just pack everything in.

for this project I used an even smaller palette black and white and all the shades between. It was fun! I think I'm going to explore that limitation further.

What did I learn? Well planning is REALLY important, or else you're gonna end up with a spaghetti mess at the end that you're gonna have to unfuck eventually.  I kind of just shot from the hip on this one, and it had its pros and cons

Pros: Interesting Ideas that I really don't see to often , less time spent on the planning part allowed me to get something playable and art style pretty quickly.

Cons: it was a mess. I became overstretched and found myself very unequipped to complete mechanics I had envisioned in the beginning. Luckily I had Decker to keep me focused. honestly a great tool.

All in all had so much fun doing this that I think I might just keep working on this for a bit longer and seeing if I can add those cool things I wanted to explore.

I was heavily inspired by HP Lovecraft (I think I failed in my attempt to nail the cosmic horror aspect down but THATS OK! Ill keep trying), The band Ghosts new cover song "Jesus He knows me"  Which is where I got the main beats for televangelist cult thing. I was also reading Stephan Kings the Stand and that definitely helped the creative juices flowing. Last but not least, Darkwood. an incredible example of horrifying Top down story telling.

Well I'm kind of  happy with it. Not bad for a second attempt at making a video game. I just wish I had finished a few things before submission. But what's done is done! I look forward to my next venture!

As stated before I'll come back to this one and polish this turd eventually, OR use this as a foundation for a new project.

Anyway, Thanks again for your time! it means a lot if you played my game and also read this string of thoughts and word vomit.

See you on the next one!
