A new version of Battle for Europe has been compiled. Over the last week I have made the following changes:
Developer Comments: Portugal goes from 1 to 3 territories. All of which have access to the Atlantic sea node, which Portugal controls with a fleet. In terms of strength Portugal now sits around Secondary Power level with nations like Netherlands and Belgium.
Developer Comments: Spain goes from 3 to 9 territories. For a Secondary Power they start the game with a strong economy, but a weak military. This means they will need to spend time building up their forces before they go after France or Portugal.
Leon goes from 1 to 3 territories. Leon becomes landlocked but Santiago and Bilbao have access to the Atlantic sea node. If Spain remains friendly with Portugal in the early game, they can generate Trade Income via the Atlantic.
Developer Comments: Barcelona goes from 1 to 3 territories. Barcelona and Valencia have access to the Western Med. sea node. Zaragoza is landlocked on the French border. If Spain remains friendly with France in the early game, they can generate Trade Income via the Western Med.
Developer Comments: Madrid goes from 1 to 3 territories. Marid and Badajoz are landlocked. Seville has access to the Atlantic sea node. Spain starts the game with limited options for expansion. However they have the capacity to play tall and build a strong economy if they avoid war.
Developer Comments: You attack with 2 fleets. If fleet A lost it's battle, it would cancel the naval order for fleet B.
Developer Comments: Instead of building 4 ships in 1 port, the AI would build 4 ships in 4 ports. If this change is stable I will update this behaviour for reinforcing owned sea nodes and capturing neutral sea nodes as well.
Developer Comments: Score is important because it determines turn order. The nation with the highest score will take their turn first, the nation with the lowest score will take their turn last, etc.
It also determines where your nation sits in the rankings. The top 5 scores are the Great Powers, the next 5 are the Secondary Powers and everyone else is considered a Minor Power.
Score is divided into three categories, Politics, Economy and Military - which are added together to get the Total Score.
Politics = (Number of Territories * 2)
Economy = (Production Income + Trade Income)
Military = (Number of Divisions + (Number of Warships * 5))
