While learning Unreal Engine, I learned many things necessary to make a game. During this project, I learned many new technical skills.
splines (though I didn't end up keeping them)
physics constraints
among others
The biggest thing that surprised me was how much overlap there is when multiple people are working on the same aspect of the project, how you can massively mess things up, and how you can lose loads of progress.
what I consider to be my greatest achievement would be creating a skill/ability that we ended up using in the final game. this surprised me because I thought that compared to some other skills/abilities it was too simple and not unique enough to be added.
I was also happy with how quickly I figured out how to create a scattershot ability that is scaleable and works very well. it only took me a couple of hours to get it set
scattershot ability
conveyor belts
main menu template
swinging door
level transition
probably some other things that I'm forgetting
