I enjoy statistics and insights, so let’s take a look at some technical details from our project. We used GitHub to host our repository. In the past month, our development team has been hard at work, pushing numerous commits to our repositories.
Here’s a breakdown of the commit activity over the four weeks of game jam:
Week 1: 57 commits
Week 2: 70 commits
Week 3: 41 commits
Week 4: 204 commits
On the last day of the game jam, we had 372 commits. On the graph, it looks like this:
We also use GitHub Actions to automate our work and make things easier. In the past month, we ran 31 workflows. Each workflow took about 1m 39s (8s average job queue time) minutes to complete. Most of them, 78%, were successful (only 7 jobs failed).
Overall, our project has shown impressive progress and dedication from the team. With a total of 384 commits over the past month and efficient use of GitHub Actions, we’ve maintained productive development process.
Throughout this process, we learned a valuable lesson. Automation is very helpful. Using GitHub Actions made our workflow much more efficient. It was an easy way to share builds with every team member, especially the artists and composer.
