Colour version of Tony is out!
We did it! With the power of additional colour RAM and extra 4 bits on the data bus of the VIC-II, we deliver a colourful version of Tony: Montezuma's Gold! For Commodore 64 of course. To keep the monochrome lovers happy, we have kept the mono version as an option. It's almost 100% identical to the one you've already played. Even scheme selection via F1 works.
Remember, if you own the game, this update is free.
Here's a full list of changes in version 2.1:
- Added colour support to the game. Users can still select a monochrome version in the colour selection menu.
- Graphics fixes (mostly level 1) to eliminate colour artefacts when running on real hardware.
- Control scheme unified with Atari and Amiga versions (FIRE must be released and pressed again to jump).
- Mask can no longer be collected if inventory is full of keys.
- Improved the physics of moving stone traps, it is no longer possible to jump onto the stone.
- A rare bug where items would stop being collected has been fixed.
- A minor fix has been applied to all levels to prevent illegal transitions between rooms.
- Unpassable bat in level 1 has been fixed and can now be avoided without losing a life.
- Corrections in monochrome themes: Amber and C128.
