Last month my project took part in a rare jam, available for games that are already in development. It was a cool opportunity to somehow collect my thoughts and do something that I had been putting off for a long time.
Of course, I did not manage to finish the game. I plan to release the early access version at the end of December. And, according to my forecasts, it will take about half a year to polish. Nevertheless, here is what I managed to do during the game jam:
I added the missing hull skills related to the ship’s movement. These are maneuver and turbo, capable of instantly turning the tide of battle with slow opponents.
After numerous questions, I decided to remove the walls in space. Now the player does not lose if at least one pixel touches the edge of the playing field :-)
New types of obstacles have been introduced into the game. These are pieces of ice that move along predetermined trajectories and cannot be destroyed.
Also added was an enemy that generates game areas. Here we are talking about a space spider that throws space webs.
And one of my favorite things is the wind in space. I just liked working on it. And it looks cool!
I hope it’s not too late to take part in the final showcase. I will be closely following PIGSquad!
