#update #Adventures in the Unknown #PDF
Almost immediately after uploading the last version of Adventures in the Unknown I noticed problems with the PDF. Fixing them meant starting over, but it ended up taking less time than I expected, so here we are with the updated file.
First off, I included a cover image this time around. I didn't think about it, and no one asked, so it continued to slip my mind. Here it is now, if you want to print it or admire it.
Second, I fixed a number of issues with the PDF. Images moved around and in at least one place a font "broke." I am much happier with the PDF now. I still want to make another check of it for typos, because I don't trust anything. After that, I will start to get it set up for print at Lulu. I don't expect this process to be done this month, because I will have to order test copies and check them. With the limited window for mail with the holidays, I don't expect this to happen until after Christmas.
Third, new mechanic. You'll find a Willpower roll in the appendices now. This is something that I wanted in the game since the beginning, but I was still mulling around what to do in my head. I read up on some similar approaches that other games have done and figured out a way to get them to fit into Adventures in the Unknown. This mechanic will add some horror elements to the game, which I wanted. I put this in with the appendices because there really wasn't a good place to put the rules, but this is not an optional mechanic from my end. Future materials will utilize this mechanic, even if you don't in your home games.
Lastly, I threw some more words at the text throughout the book. Nothing has changed from the previous version, I just wanted to explain a couple of things better and I wanted to add a couple of things post-election.
I hope you like what I've done. If you have any questions or comments, you can post them on the page for the game. That will be the easiest way for me to find them, I think.
Thank you for your support!
