Version 1.09
Posted November 30, 2024 by Azzie
Hi Deer Gamers!
A new set of bugfixes and amendments have been made to improve the play experience of Reindeer Story. As always thanks for playing!
In addition for I've removed the steam api settings which I inadvertently left in on the last version. These were primarily for achievments on Steam. However I just noticed including it meant you needed an internet connection and to be logged into steam to launch the full game even when downloaded standalone itch.io. Which was not intended for this game, apologies to anyone affected.
I've removed it so the new version of the full-game should be launchable without requiring internet connection or Steam. The demo never had the api settings on so will be unaffected.
Bugfixes
Fixed a bug where after getting the Doom Breaker ending and saving a game completion save file continuing that save file would spawn you on a bottomless pit endlessly. Saving the game will now set the right co-ordinatesFor the above, loading a Doom Breaker completion file will adjust your position onto the intended position if the game spawns you in a pit on that screen.Fixed a bug which caused the game to crash when using the bed in the House in Toy Town with a toy unicorn.Fixed a bug which caused it to be possible to interact with objects such as the checkpoint flags while in the pause menu.Fixed a bug where opening a gate with a key would drastically reduce the distance needed to interact with other objects in the room such as present boxes until you left the screen.Changed it so that NPC dialogue won't display while the Quest Reward Menu is displayed.
QoLAdjusted the battle rankings to achieve S-rank on the Final Boss to be less stringent (the length of the battle and intensity of attacks made it difficult to achieve higher rankings)
Turns: 40 from 20
Hits: 40 from 20
Player KOs: 12 from 4Corrected some typos in the games script.Adjusted New Game+ to retain your number of perfect battle wins. (note this won't effect already started New Game+ files)
Thanks for reading,
