At the beginning of the semester, I challenged myself to do some 3D art for our game, on top of my programming and development duties. I have a good amount of experience in Blender and wanted to expand my knowledge by learning more about animation, rigging, and modeling in general. In total I have made two characters that will be NPCs in our game. The first is a female human character and the second a gnome male character.
I made this female character while taking the GameDev.tv course on how to make an anime character:
She is fully rigged and ready for animations.
The gnome I made based off what I learned from the previous course mentioned:
This gnome will be one of the characters that shows up throughout the game, giving you quests and guiding you along your journey. I have the gnome set up to be able to animate him based off videos I upload to Radical Motion. An example of an animation I uploaded
Using this technology, I hope to take our animations to the next level.
