I've been threatening to write a one page version of Sixty Years in Space - called Six Meals in Space - for years. But this evening, when I was posting a game design prompt on Blue Sky at https://bsky.app/profile/andrewdoull.bsky.social, I wrote
"The one page version of Sixty Years in Space starts with “You’re an astronaut. Whatever anyone told you as a kid you couldn’t do, you always succeed at.”"
And then like a lightning bolt, the following three sentences hit me. The rest of the game took about an hour to write and publish. Naturally I had to overdo it, by making the whole game half a page - with half a page of examples. There's shorter games: the one word game https://riverhousegames.itch.io/we-are-but-worms-a-one-word-rpg comes to mind. But I'm happy I've condensed down the experience I want to have into such a small size.
