ITCH | MEGA | ITCH-DELUXE | MEGA-DELUXE
This week around we have a focus on polishing and iterating content. First of all, the ability to Star Knightess Destroy the barrier protecting Richard's Anchor had been causing too many problems, so I decided to remove it. You now have to obtain the Humilitas Rune from Lord Trademond to enter the final dungeon.
On the plus side, this means I no longer had to lock the player out of the 6th level if Asmodeus wasn't killed at the Maid Academy. You can properly encounter him here where he will be fighting without Lilim. This also gives a new state for Paulina where you can kill Asmodeus (and thus close down the Maid Academy) and keep her as a girl without doing any corruptive actions to her.
Then, if you were to download a fresh copy without the previous options save file, you will notice that the World Fog option is now enabled by default. I did some more tweaking to make it look a bit nicer, but sadly it looked better in my head. :'D It's just a problem of me not being super into PixiJS so I end up reading documentation for a couple of hours to notice that the way I wanted to do something didn't quite end up working in the way RPGMaker implemented tileset rendering. Besides finishing up the World Fog plugin, I spent the remainder of the day doing a little bit more NPC work. Trademond as a new minor NPC who gives tips about Flash Bombs and a new roaming NPC who appears after healing Riverflow. Should you have done the lewd artist scenes, he will be commenting about that!
And then most of the remaining week was spent on iterating the Clockwork Forest our assistant developer Trihan had been preparing. The Western Forest and the Hidden Cave should now be properly balanced and filled with additional hidden loot. (Can you find the Blessed Water+ hidden in the Western Forest?!) The boss fights thought are not 100% updated yet, the Thunder Golem is still a bit weak and while we did quite a bit of reworking of the Ether Golem boss fight, I need to retest it after I had left some homework for Trihan because some of the mechanics weren't working properly.
Among the new loot, we have a new type of item called "Blueprints" that you can now find in Clockwork Forest. They are basically the counterpart to Formulas; hand them in at the Artifact Workshop in Verdeaux to unlock their effects.
And then as the final addition of the week, Trihan has finished the first iteration of the first floor of Clockwork Tower. As usual, very last minute - or rather past the last minute :'D so I only received it just earlier and had a quick look. I think there area is still lacking loot so I don't think it's worth yet to clear the trap minigames.
Finally, on the art side, our artist has recovered from their food poisoning and we discussed the next H-CG which he has started sketching out. So hoping I can maybe at least post the sketch version before the next update goes live.
Oh right, one more thing happened!
We have survived the steam roulette, so that's one less thing to worry about.
Alright, aaand that's it for the week! Up next week: Closing out the dungeon crawling segment of the Final Dungeon!
