Welcome to Release 1.0! 

It's happening!

After spending hours planning, designing, and play testing, we are happy to make Dataville available to the public! Now everyone can experience the highs and lows of being an AI labeler among extraterrestrials. Each click you decide if you want to make rent, sabotage AI models, join a union, or rise the corporate ladder.

The game is available now for download in Windows, Linux, and MacOS flavors.

Note to MacOS Users

Running the game, you'll run into an error saying "Apple could not verify Dataville is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy." This is a signing issue with RenPy and is safe to run.

To get it run:

1. Run the app to get the warning prompt.
2. Click done.
3. Open System Settings
4. Go to 'Privacy & Security'.
5. Scroll to the 'Security' section.
6. There should be listed item saying "DataVille was blocked to protect your Mac."
7. Click on 'Open Anyway.'
8. Another prompt will come up to verify, click 'Open Anyway' and verify.
9. Enjoy!

You can also move the app to your Applications folder.

Looking ahead

While the game is currently stable and we don’t anticipate major changes, we are still making improvements here and there and working on a “final” release. So be sure to check for announcements down the line. If you encounter a bug or have comments for us, feel free to leave them on this page or fill out our bug report form.
