Ministry of Monster Girls
A downloadable Visual Novel for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android

Hello, good day!

How are you doing? Great, fantastic, or this is one of those not so good days?

It's been a week since the launch of Ministry of Monster Girls, and boy what a week it's been, changes and new opportunities to learn some hard lessons.

First I would like to thank everyone that clicked on that link to the game, game development has always been my dream job and while I cannot say I'm a "gamedev" yet, we are in the right path to it :'D


Right after release I couldn't spend a second away of the screen looking at that views counter grow and grow, and, despite the low interaction, I loved seeing people interested in my little project. What I didn't loved to see was the analytics of the game...


You see, when preparing the graphics for the page, I didn't really knew how to sell the game page, and in one moment of "inspiration" I let my mind flow and decided to convert a queen's album into the page image, I knew that wasn't a smart decision but still decided to continue, it was one of those "be happy or fit into society" moments and the harsh truth prevailed. 

As of the writing of this devlog the game has 88.6k impressions with only 2788 views with 278 downloads. I knew that image was going to hurt but didn't expected it to burn the whole building, which means I need to "bite the dust" and "fit into society".

There's also the feedback given by you in the survey. If you don't know what am I talking about, just keep playing the game (or follow this link). 

So, what's going to change?

For starters, I've changed the page image which should be better that last one, although I'm still looking for a more permanent solution other than putting renders of that version of the game in there.

For the content of the game, this isn't a complete change log of stuff to come, but some things I'm working on are:

  • Clearer menu buttons
  • Fixing the position of some elements that get in the way
  • Changing some elements of the girls menus
  • Fixing a bug in which the quests don't match the actual requirements
  • Change some elements of the gameplay
  • Prototyping new and better interfaces

I'll keep looking at the responses to the survey so please, if you can, I would love for you to answer the survey when you can.


There's a lot more that I would like to talk about, but this is already too long, so I just want to finish with the following:

Version 0.2 is in the work!

Now, not to kill the hype but don't expect the new version to have as much content as 0.1. The reason? I want to develop the story for more that just this coming version, that way after 0.2 I can focus on improving my renders and take time to practice some animation.
