PlataGO! Modding - End of break!

END OF BREAK

Thus Lord Blastalot stood up, for he rested enough

Hello!

I know I announced a comeback in september, but as it happens very often in life, things happened in my life so I had to delay the work on Blastalot a little bit more.
So far I have been consistent with a publication per week, and unfortunately I won't be able to maintain the same consistency in the future, so the posts will become more sparse from now on.
However, I did not stayed inactive on Blastalot those past months. I have been quite productive actually in a short time span during the break, and as the flow was going, I chose to continue producing assets rather than maintaining the blog.
It means that I have a lot of new stuff to show, as I made great progress!

I will just take my time to write every new devlog post as I did so far and I'll post them when they will be ready! I can finally have a glimpse of the completed project, even if there is still a lot of work to do before calling it done!

As to the why it took so long before coming back, here is the answer:
The Blastalot project is mainly - if not exclusively - pixel art centered, and even if I love pixel art, I came up to struggle with motivation and inspiration at some point, especially with character animations. I also felt the need to go back to coding stuff in Godot a little.

All this work is a work of pure passion and if the passion is not there anymore I don't want to force myself doing things that would come as an obligation rather than from the heart. I realized that I had underestimated the scope of the task and I needed a break to regroup, reorganize and come back with a fresh attitude to bring this project closer to completion.
So in the meantime of course I've started a new project, with an Halloween theme and I wish to continue working on this one all year long until an hypothetic release for Halloween 2025. I won't speak too much of that project here, it will come in due time :)

Back to Blastalot, as I said earlier, I still made some great progress, took time to better organize the assets pproduction and I  have now a clearer view as well as some nice stories to share.
I have a few character-related posts to publish, but after that the original plan will change a little. I will publish about others assets as I was struggling a bit with compplpeting the monsters, and decided to create more environmental elements, and grouping them in a few general themes that would announce the different bios for the levels, to achieve more consistency.
The monsters are not all done yet although they all have been defined and are ready to go into production.

Please, stay tuned and bear with the slower pace!

Cheers!

Imogia.
