Welcome to Project: WA – A First Look at Our Gameplay Mechanics!

Project: WA
A downloadable game for Windows

Hey everyone! We’re excited to finally share Project: WA with you—a special tech and gameplay demo test where we’re trying out some fresh ideas and new mechanics. This isn’t the final version of anything, but rather a place for us to explore ideas, gather your thoughts, and see what really sticks. Your feedback here will help shape where we take things next, so we can’t wait to hear what you think!

What You’ll Experience:

  • Mission-Based Progression: Forget about survival modes—Project: WA is all about completing specific missions to advance. Each mission is its own little puzzle, challenging you to think creatively about how to build, strategize, and navigate different goals.
  • Dynamic Roguelike Elements: Even if you’re replaying the same mission, things won’t play out exactly the same twice. ( For We’ve added randomized elements to make sure each playthrough feels fresh and pushes you to adapt your approach. Not for the first one though, serving as boot camp.)
  • Emerging RPG Mechanics: We’re weaving in some early RPG elements that will evolve as you play. Every action you take builds on your character’s journey, and we want each mission to feel like a new chapter in your story. Here’s what you can expect(still in the early stages, but we aim to deliver ASAP and are working hard on it):
    • Character Development: The choices you make and the missions you complete will add layers to who your character becomes in this universe. Even though it’s early days, we want you to feel like you’re creating a unique story each time you play.
    • NPC Interactions: NPCs in Project: WA are more than background characters—they have their own personalities and goals, and they’ll respond differently depending on how you interact with them. Build relationships (or rivalries!), unlock side quests, and even gain resources that could make or break your next mission.

Why We Need You We’re excited to see how you tackle the challenges, interact with NPCs, and make each mission your own. Your insights on how things flow, what feels fun, and even what feels rough around the edges are exactly what we need to take these ideas further. Drop us a comment on the itch.io page with any thoughts—it all makes a difference!
