Over 1000 changes (20+ new pages), including:
- Additional martial techniques (003)
- A break down of how vocations (025) are classified and guidelines for creating new ones
- A discussion on ethos (026) mechanics compared to alignment systems
- Consequences for mind transfers into inadequate containers as an extension of Coordination damage (033)
- Social (042) checks and different strategies to use for persuasion
- Four more alternatives for assigning starting (048) stats
- The “Boons & Consequences” alternate rule for degrees of success (051), a much simplified version of this was used for Heart of the Machine’s “tactics” system
- Fleshed out the techniques-in-training (055) ruleset
- Several alternate rules are accompanied by support requirements, added complexity, and difficulty estimates
- An outline of different character archetypes (057) and tactical roles which will be used to help guide character creation
- A combined Side Effect/Condition (060) rule, a simplified variant was used for Heart of the Machine
- Rules for the optional damage type (077) system
- Discovered some duplicate chapters, which was cleared up
- Dedicated section for movement (088), including a compilation of world records of different types (from track to mountain climbing) and how GIST’s stats can be used to easily generate these ranges
- A new section for rounds/turns (089) so there is a single place to look to
- A new section for the broad category of “abilities” (090) to tie together techniques, traits, tactics, and other actions under a single rule to reduce duplication and improve clarity
- A new section for the broad category of “damage” (091) to tie together the different damage proposals, includes multiple variant rules and connections to other proposals
- A new section for grid combat (092) for miniatures and VTT tactical play
- A new section for the broad category of “addon systems” (093) to manage how optional rule modules are classified into addons and variants
- A new section for “character exits” (094) to better define how and why characters leave a narrative, which seems simple, but in practice with a group can cause a lot of confusion, it presents a variety of ways to handle these scenarios
- A new section for the broad category of “stats” (095) to group together attributes (001), skills (037), and derived stats (046) officially under one umbrella term with historical context and usage
