Now that the voting period is over, it's time to update to the first post-jam version! I've taken into consideration a lot of the comments given by those who tried my game on the LDJam website, as well as my friends who played my game outside of that. To anyone who played my game and left a review, thank you!
Here is a quick change log:
New Game Modes:
- The current style of gameplay will be called "Time Attack". New gamemodes with different style of game play have been introduced.
- In the Strategic Mode, clicking the start button will immediately spawn 1 guy so the player has something to click at the beginning.
- The Timer Bar in the Strategic Mode is replaced by a longer NEXT list. It will now show up to 10 Guys in advance.
- In Strategic Mode, clicking 1 guy will spawn 2 guys at first. Every 5 levels, this increases by 1.
- Pressing Space to push Guys out still work in Strategic Mode, but you do not get points for it.
- Chill and Cruel Mode are also added. Chill Mode doesn't scale in difficulty, while Cruel Mode combines the aspects that make Time Attack and Strategic modes difficult.
UI Improvements:
- Changed to a more readable font. If you preferred the pixel font from the previous version, you can change it back in the options menu.
- Increased opacity on all panels.
- When the number of guys spawned per click changes, the red highlight in the preview will also change with it.
- Clicking on Little Guys now creates a text that shows the score you got from that click.
- Level preview thumbnails in the level select menu are updated to the current version.
QoL Improvements:
- Hovering over a Little Guy will show the body part that's currently creating the longest chain for them.
- Parallax background can be turned off in the options menu.
- Added a button that takes you to the level select menu from the game pause screen and the game over screen.
Balance Patches:
- Time Attack has been slightly adjusted to make it easier. The timer starts at 2s instead of 1s, and a click will spawn 2 Little Guys instead of 3.
- Certain levels have been adjusted to make them slightly easier.
- Polyrhythm: Reduce number of moving platforms.
- No OSHA: Slightly increase the height of the side walls.
- Football: Removed from the game due to balance reasons for the time being. Added a new level called Downhill to take its place.
- Bottomless: Board has been entirely remade. It is still bottomless by definition, but a lot more forgiving.
Other Minor Fixes:
- Modified the audio files so the volume is acceptable even at max volume.
- Little Guy Colliders slightly improved.
- Moving Platform's movement code is fixed so they never overshoot their goal.
