Hello, Reality Breachers!
I’m thrilled to share the latest progress on Reality Breach!🚀👾
I'm hard at work on the second demo update, with level design being the current focus. Significant improvements have been made, leading to a dramatic transformation from the existing demo. Expect better graphics, enhanced lighting, more areas to explore, more objects to interact with, and a deeper level of visual storytelling.
So, what’s new?
Level Design:
Theo's Apartment: The apartment has undergone a major overhaul. While the layout remains familiar, it’s now slightly larger with upgraded assets, furniture, and lighting to enhance the atmosphere.
Apartment Complex: A new addition allows you to exit Theo’s apartment and explore the complex. You’ll uncover more about Theo's surroundings, including diverse lifestyles and unsettling secrets that will keep you on edge.
Basement: A darker, maze-like area is being introduced. Expect a claustrophobic and nerve-wracking experience. Getting in might be easy, but leaving will test your survival instincts.
Airducts: The air ducts provide alternative routes for stealth and traversal, helping you avoid danger. But don’t rely on them too much — sometimes, you’ll have no choice but to take the riskier path.
Streets: Theo’s neighbourhood is eerie and unsettling. While the streets offer a more open environment, they’re no safer than the cramped halls. They’ll connect you deeper into the lore while keeping the tension high.
In summary: The level design is progressing well. The second demo will feature most of these new areas, though not all will be accessible until full release.
Mechanics:
I’ve begun implementing mechanics from the current demo into the new map. These include:
Door and furniture interactions
Inventory system and items
Hiding mechanics
Light system
Airduct crawling system
Puzzle-solving, notes, and more!
You'll find more objects to interact with and a wider variety of puzzles to challenge you.
Enemy AI:
I’m also making progress with the AI. While it wasn't in the current demo due to missing animations, the AI is now in a better state. It can roam, attack, chase, and perform other tasks, creating a more intense and immersive experience. Expect to see the AI in the second demo!
To wrap up: Reality Breach is progressing well, with the second demo on track to bring new areas, enhanced mechanics, and the introduction of AI. If you'd like more sneak peeks or have specific questions, feel free to share them in the discussions!
Stay tuned for more updates, and don’t forget to follow, wishlist, and keep up with the journey! 🎮👾
