Hello,
Happy October! We apologize for being quiet for the past 2 weeks. We had originally intended to work on the goals for the month of October; however, as we advanced, we found it difficult due to our circumstances. Therefore, we would like to give an update about our current situation and our future plans.
As you may know, H9O6 is a two-person team. Hinata Yoyo, the project lead of MY DEAR☆LOVE, will be relocating to Japan in two weeks. As a result, we have been busy with preparation which has slowed our development significantly, and unfortunately we expect more delays until Hinata Yoyo has settled down in Japan.
The greatest impact is that there will be a significant delay in game development since the team will have to work in different time zones. Other consequences include slow updates, late responses and etc. Nonetheless, we have our future plan mapped out for the final demo release:
October
Since Hinata Yoyo is leaving in 2 weeks, we are quite occupied with preparation. We will mainly work on sprites and GUI revamp for the final demo. In addition, we will also try to polish the writing and add contents for stat-raising simulation since the production of the current demo was rushed. There won’t be much work on sound & music however we’ll clean up the pieces. As for programming, we’ll review the current system and design a better construction.
November
Hinata Yoyo will be relocated to Japan and will require time to settle. In other words, game development may stall for weeks until further news on Hinata Yoyo’s end. We will focus on text-based work (writing and programming) instead of visuals. Minor updates may be made for art and programming.
December
Hinata Yoyo may be moving within Japan for work. This again, may slow the game development although we would like to progress as much as we can. We’ll focus more on the writing and programming for the final demo release.
January
If all goes well, we’ll put the finishing touches to our final demo (ver 2.2.0), which includes enhanced functions of stat-raising mode, updated graphics such as more character expressions and in-game visuals, and polished game system.
We had mentioned to release the game in Q1 2025 and we are working according to this timeline. However, being a two-person team with 13-hour time difference, there are possible delays in game development at all time. To make this fair for our supporters, we’ll make our game development as transparent as possible by giving weekly updates here on Ko‑fi and monthly updates on our other social media platforms.
As we would like to ensure the quality of the game and be consistent with our work, there is a chance of changing the timeline. We hope you all understand our hardship during this time and thank you for the support.
