Shrines, Cults, Overseer

Greetings Commander,

In today's update we are introducing Shrines. Shrines allow you to pledge allegiance to a specific faction, enhancing the chances of encountering friendly crew from that faction as you progress through your journey. Whether you're seeking to strengthen your bonds with the Empire, the Cult of Blood, or another faction, Shrines add a new layer of immersion and strategy to your decisions.

In addition to Shrines, this patch introduces two new ships built on the Overseer hull class, favored by the Cult of Blood. These psyker-focused ships harness Ariokine psychomancy. In other words, they fight with blood magic. 

We've also made some minor bug fixes and balance tweaks, though the number of fixes in this patch is relatively small. Rest assured, we’ll be focusing on addressing the backlog of bug reports in the next patch.

Balance Changes

• Adjustments to Hull Reaper
• Reduced demon heart repair rate

Stability

• Fixed crash in war cult fighting empire encounter
• Fixed one case of the "Return to Stations" button crash

Gameplay 

• Fixed bug with "damage reduced per shield pierced" stat not applying to system damage
• Fixed bug with vault reward not spawning if you recall too soon after damaging it

Visual 

• Adjusted the way crew are displayed on the Victory screen
• Fixed bug with Utmost Vanquished tooltip in the difficulty dropdown

Sound Bugs

• Removed heal SFX for crew with the "cannot rest" debuff

Typos

• Fixed typos in sorcerers and demon creature encounter

How to Install the Patch

If you have already bought the game, you can install the latest patch by following these instructions:

• At the top right corner of the Itch page, next to your username, click the "down" arrow to open the dropdown menu, then click "My Library".
  
  
• Find Void War in your library and click the "Download" button.
  
  
• That's it! You now have the latest version of the game. Your save data will carry through automatically.* You can delete the old version of the game whenever you want.

*For those curious, your save data is not stored with the main game files and is actually located here: C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Void_War
