The Problem
Getting Perforce setup took longer than I expected and while trying to access the project the group ran into multiple Local vs Global issues. This was due to unity plugins being ignored by the ignore file.
For this week I could not prepare anything for my role as the UI/UX engineer so I had to find tasks to fill the void. This was due to lack of a player and development environment. Once we had this set up I could begin updating the project.
The Solution
We fixed our Perforce issues in a single meeting when every member of the group was having the same issues. We simply had to have the plugins available locally so that despite being ignored dependencies could still function.
We have our development environment set up so that we can begin promptly when the team reconvenes on Monday. At that time I will be focused on creating the UI for general gameplay. I have my own testing scene to work in as well I have access to all the prefabs available to test how the player might interact with the UI. I plan to start with multiple templates and find the one that best suits our game.
