What’s new in 0.40?
♥ New Obstacle: Wall turret
The eye-enemy in the third room of the game has been replaced with a new obstacle: A wall-turret blocking the way. This needs to be parried to destroy the wall and is intended as part of the "parry/deflect" tutorial.
♥ Changes to the players attacks:
- Attacks are sped up, to make them feel more responsive
- Attack swipe visuals have been adjusted
- Additional sprites for hit-effects (variations for combo and other attacks)
- Attacks only executes once per button press, compared to before when the player could hold the attack button to attack continuously
Default attack combo:
- Combo only executes when hitting something
- Attack range adjusted for the second attack in the three hit combo to have the same range as the initial attack
- Attack range adjusted for the third attack in the three hit combo to have a longer range
- Increased magnitude for screenshake when hitting enemies
Jump attacks implemented and fixed:
- Sprites and effects adjusted and implemented for both regular jump-attack and down-jump-attack
- Regular jump attacks “jump” boost reduced to 50% of its original effect
- Down jump attacks “jump” boost (upon hit) increased by 25%
♥ Other fixes:
- Fixed an issue causing the eye-enemy to display the wrong H-anim when charmed
- The player can now jump slightly higher, this is to avoid frustration with ledges that the player can only barely get up on
- Parry is sped up to be more responsive
- Ladders now have a wider hit-box
- Undead Pikeman’s attack will damage the player one frame later than before
- Player no longer takes damage from the first 5 frames and the last 11 frames of the fire-trap’s animation
- All enemies now have a CD before you can trigger a H-animation with them after exiting one, rather than only the slime enemy
- Shadow Eye enemy has had its timings tweaked and reduced and should now move more fluidly without pausing for too long between actions
- To compensate for the much greater attack rate, all enemies max hp have been adjusted with most getting an increase in 20-50% additional max HP.
Boss HP changes:
Liber Umbrarum Boss Hp increased from 15 -> 20
Ira Boss Hp increased from 50 -> 60
