Welcome back to Géante Endormie.
The v0.8 release is an unusual update for a variety of reasons— perhaps most notably its length. With a 52-part multi-event in the main event series, 25 events spread between optional routes, 2 new sleepover girls, an updated sleepover, and even a cookbook, there is a lot of ground covered in the roughly 10 hours of new content.
The sheer length of this multi-event allows for the presentation of a number of new and concurrent plot streams. They include the development of the marching band show itself, the evolution of the main character’s relationship with Kaylyn, and the continued unraveling of what has been an ongoing mystery in this game. Along with these major plot streams come many smaller and (for now) less consequential developments.
Fourteen new personalities make their debut, fleshing out the remaining ranks of the marching band. Players will receive ample opportunity to get to know these new faces one-on-one. As for the original nine main characters, each plays their own important role in the telling of this chapter of the story.
While the 25 optional events in this release are technically “missable” events, they may be purchased for a reasonable price using in-game currency from within the Extra Credit section of the event menu. There is a high likelihood that these events would become prerequisites for any future events featuring the B-wing character in question. May as well check them out before you have to pay for them.
Should you have difficulty unlocking the new content, navigate into the Event Menu, click “Main Events”, click the “Band Camp” mini square, and click the white text just above the scrollable event list which reads “Band Camp Prerequisites List”. This resource dynamically updates to show you any events requiring completion prior to band camp triggering on Monday mornings.
Be advised that v0.8 features considerably more GPU-intensive video, some of which has proven quite demanding of generic hardware in testing. Players should consider closing unnecessary background programs depending on the equipment used to run this game.
One last piece of advice is for players to reacquaint themselves with Perfect Pitch by clicking the “Suggested” list in the event menu. These hand-selected events will refresh veterans on relevant aspects of the series after the long break between releases.
Plenty of new material means plenty of opportunities for bugs and spelling mistakes. Please leave those in the bugs/errors dev log when you catch them.
