Unlike the previous updates, I won't be doing this in bullet point form, mainly because there's so many changes, that I can't really remember what's new. That being said, 90% of the fixes within the latest update won't immediately be recognised.
The most important fixes is balancing and tweaking the combat, stats, cards, etc. I've been play testing and changing how certain things are calculated, fixing difficulty, etc. Again, most of these aren't visual, or easily noticeable unless you fully push the game.
The next batch of fixes are to do with ease of play, i.e. navigation, button maps, going in and out of menus, stuff like that. These also include tutorials, and providing information to the player that was previously withheld. Just making the game clearer and more fluid.
In addition to these updates, I've been working on the rest of the game as well, beyond the DEMO. I won't be talking about that, but I thought you should know. I am working on the rest of the game.
The next update is a noticeable one, and that is Weapons and Armour. I previously didn't want to add this, because I felt like it didn't add anything to the experience I was trying to create. Yes, VantaPsy is an RPG inspired by many that came before, but I didn't just want to add mechanics because they exist in those games. I wanted to add mechanics I felt added to the overall experience. If I were to add Weapons and Armour, it would need to make sense within the game loop.
That being I said, I found a way to implement them that makes sense. But, in doing so, I had to readjust the ENTIRE game. This took me almost 2 months to get right. But I'm glad I did it, because it forced me to fully understand how the systems work in tandem with each other. Hopefully you can appreciate the work I've done.
Sorry that I haven't done much in the way of visuals. The coding side of things took up most of my time. I still need to work on aspects I mentioned before.
I want to implement a Hotswap mechanic. I won't go into it, but I want to make sure the rest of the game works perfectly before adding this. Hotswapping is basically a way to quickly change party members.
