This months Patreon build is finally done! Major highlights include the loot and economy system, including a shop and a nifty chain/combo system which rewards skilled play. There's a new options menu and a frightening level of polish, as well as two new (WIP) songs. Check out the devlog for all the details, available to everyone as usual:

This month's public build shows off the revamped level generation and a ton of more polished animations on the player character. Floor, detail, weapon swings with more impact than before, etc.
Note that you'll need a special emulator fork if you plan to run the game locally, as most upstream emulator projects haven't implemented the Rainbow mapper yet. I personally develop against Broke Studio's fork of Mesen2, whose build artifacts can be downloaded from here: https://github.com/BrokeStudio/Mesen2/tree/rainbow
Now that the economy exists, I should continue to flesh that out with additional items and mechanics. I'd like to get Bombs and Spells both working, as that'll round out the HUD and finalize the controller input requirements. My primary focus though is on a trailer, which means I need a few more areas to become presentable in a short video clip. It's mostly pixel art holding the game back, so I need to sit down and draw... tons more of it.
