Disinherited Demo v1.05 update!
Oh boy! Fixes, movement changes, and visual updates! Here we go, from most to least impactful.
CHANGES AND NEW STUFF
- NEW ABILITY: Aerial Downstrike / Pogo. Holding downward in midair removes the "cap" on fall speed, and pressing bash performs a downward attack that does 1 damage and causes an upward bounce, even off of ground
- WALL CLIMB UPDATES
- Samuel now only sticks to the wall when holding in the direction of the wall
- On Controller, this was more difficult to manage, so holding Left Trigger will keep you on the wall. Otherwise, it works the same. (Eventually, I'm probably gonna make "Auto wall-climbing" a setting)
- Climbing downward into a 1-height tunnel now smoothly transitions you into crawling
- Approaching a 1-height tunnel from the air smoothly transitions you into crawling
- TEXT POPUPS appear over Samuel to show when Oil Drain is activated or cleared, when safe zones are entered, and when Agonized or Chained.
- Pressing "INTERACT" now advances most dialogue. This system will be reworked later, but it's better than jump, I think.
- The Nephrite Bead that offered a 10% bonus to thrown items has been removed
- Many of the beads have been renamed!
- The first shop in the Demo area has a 50% discount, so you can actually buy things
- The Tesla coils in the Infinite Machine are no longer obstacles to be climbed on/under/around
BUG FIXES
- The bash buffer ruined everything last time, and you'd get stuck in the windup state. That shouldn't happen anymore!
- The Bead Trader event was triggering twice because I... made it trigger twice by accident. The Bead Trader's dialogue is faster, and will be skippable in the future.
- In the Testing Area, the Infinite Machine and Chained Monastery should now be functional
VISUAL UPDATES
- The Beads have been redesigned with unique shapes, and more differentiated colors
- Corners on the Catacombs tilemap should all be filled in now
- Decorations and destructibles will spawn more dependably
- Air Jump has VFX now :)
- Samuel has an idle animation where he blinks!
