As mentioned previously, the collaboration with HomeTeam GameDev is underway and a pre-alpha version of the game is now available! This version supports turn-based networked multiplayer for 2-4 players via a LAN game or via Steam! Note that this early version contains a blockout of the House course so there are ugly grid textures on the placeholder meshes. Also, the art style will look very different than the prototype version as we are going for a more flat-shaded simpler art style in the final version. The prototype version contained marketplace assets.
For the Steam option, be sure the Steam client is running prior to launching the game and then de-select the LAN option under "Online" when clicking Host/Join. This will allow you to easily play with another friend on another network. If playing on the same network, the LAN option is best. Note that the game will appear as "Space War" in Steam as we are using the dev steam app id during development.
