A new version of ZRDOOM Enhanced is out people... This new version features a lot of new changes...
Many of them are major ones that effect the gameplay in major ways...
The first change is the addition of Crushing Ceilings in procedurally generated maps in the mod. This makes the maps a bit harder and at least one teleport to 'reconfigure' the map is now a crusher too... Their all fast weak damage crushers so don't worry, no death traps yet.
The second change is massive changes to the Floor and Ceiling Height code. Now Floors will be way more varied, with floor heights of 32 and 64 units seen a lot. This was done to make walls align better, as using 8, 16, or other values makes things too ugly. This makes maps way more jumping intensive now as you have to jump to reach where you want to go now.
Another change is the music code. It now throws in Doom 1 music names for people who want to play this with the excellent Brutal Doom Metal soundtrack. Since that has Doom 1 music and Doom 2 music in the same wad, it works...
Another major change is a massive adjustment to difficulty increases between maps. Now it's random how much harder the next map will be and the value depends on your difficulty config.
Another major change is the fact that now you cannot be blocked from entering the maps first exit teleporter. This was done because a bug made this happen occasionally... Its been fixed...
These are all major changes and I hope people like them. The adjustments to floor and ceiling heights is the biggest change, it makes maps really feel better like real doom maps now...
