ITCH | MEGA | ITCH-DELUXE | MEGA-DELUXE
Alright, it is the start of a dev cycle! As mentoned in the project plan post, we have now reaped a lot of fruit last update and are now back to more of a build up phase before we tackle the good ending.
Besides quite a lot of bugfixing and some cleanup stuff, I started this week to work on the last demon general quest. SInce this is an optional quest that doesn't block main progression, I used the leeway to make the most cryptic thing that probably exists in the game. I am curious if anyone is even going to find their way into the "Judgement Domain" ---
--- Which is a dungeon where you will have to encounter and "solve" a series of trolley problems. Don't worry, Charlotte's life here is not in danger, as this is only the first trolley problem, the punishment to the one getting hit by the trolley is "only" a permanent -100 Max HP debuff.
Besides flipping the switch, you will also be able to progress to the next room by fighting a powerful encounter, that one I have to implement though as I only today made it to implementing the first Judgement Floor.
The interactions with Charlotte here also change majorly depending on whether you fully corrupted her or not.
But um, like I said, in order to enter it, you have to first follow a fairly thin string of leads in a murder investigation and then also be a bit creative. Idk or maybe some of the hints I added are super on the nose and I just think it's difficult and in reality it's super obvious. Who knows.
Then, on our assistant developer side, we have two sides of progress. One is that we still had a lot glitches in the Shadow boss battle due to the initial implementation not working out well with how RPGMaker plays out animations and forces a battle to be over once all enemies are dead. Using the power of hindsight and now knowing exactly what we need to do, Trihan reimplemented the thing so it's no longer a spaghetti monster (at least so I am told :D :D :D)
The other part of progress is some general progress on Clockwork Forest. I iterated some of the mechanics there, although most of them are currently not yet usable due to the necessary Security not being available yet. Trihan added some more stuff to the first area such as a new boss battle against a Unicorn boss. I haven't fought it yet, so curious as to what he came up with here. I do know that it's drop is apparantly another +1 Light POWER booster, so that might be releavnt for some.
And that's it for this week. Next week, I plan to progress on Judgement of Pride by working on the next Judgements. Trihan will be continuing on Clockwork Forest.
