Patch v2.9.9.14 // Friendly Water & Widescreen
Greetings, Adventurers!
I am excited to bring you what I believe to be the final patch before the full release of "The Ruins of Calaworm" (if I had a Dollar for each time I said that, I wouldn't need sales to cover my expenses, lol). Unfortunately I haven't been keeping track of all the myriad tweaks and fixes since last patch, so let me just highlight a couple of key points:
- Save Files from previous versions are no longer valid:
- Before you download this latest version, please note that save files and WorldSeeds from previous versions won’t work. The game will detect an expired version and start a new game with a fresh WorldSeed instead.
- Water Tiles Rebalanced:
- Water tiles are no longer instantly deadly! I’ve introduced a scaling algorithm for Saving Rolls: the further you progress, the more likely reckless exploring will get you into trouble. This change is meant to provide a more enjoyable and fluid early game experience without punishing new players too harshly.
- "Known Issues" Resolved:
- All issues listed in the latest "Known Issues" devLog Entry have been addressed and fixed. Really appreciating your patience and reports! <3
- Widescreen Support:
- The game now supports widescreen displays: while you won’t see more of the game world, UI elements have been spread out to give a less cramped feel. If you have a widescreen monitor, the game will now automatically launch in 1366x768 resolution, up from the previous 1024x768.
- Balancing Tweaks:
- Various gameplay and number tweaks.
