Development Update Since v1.6 Release
Work on version 2.0 is well underway! I'm focused on laying down the groundwork for what will be the next major release, which will come with some exciting additions.
Looking ahead, there will be at least two Alpha versions (maybe three) before all the features I want for 2.0 are in place.
One of the most significant updates will be the addition of NPCs to (eventually) interact with, each having their own galleries to unlock. I've almost decided on the artistic style, but since I'm not a 2D artist, I'll be relying on AI to speed up the creation process. Achieving consistent results (i.e. recognizable characters) has been one of the biggest challenges, but the latest output is looking promising!
Today is especially exciting because I finally resolved the issue with h265 videos not playing correctly. I'd love to backport the fix, but doing so would delay 2.0 by at least a month, so it will have to wait. The fix will be available in v2.0 Alpha 1.
So, when’s the next release? I won't make any promises, but I’m aiming for sometime in the second half of October.
