Polished to a Shine!

We're not going to sugarcoat it: Bobby (our programmer) had a score to settle with the text system. Several features took a lot of black magic to get working, while others had to be left on the cutting room floor.

That said, a lot has changed since then. Bobby developed an easy-to-work-with successor to this text system in our new project (wink wink) and managed to integrate it into Pumpkin Spice Story. It looks cleaner, the portraits bounce around, and the characters even have different pitches to their text (just pretend you can hear the gif):
