Hey guys! I've heard a couple times that itch.io devlogs are important to the project, so I wanted to take a shot and talk here. Maybe answer a few questions.
1. What is this game about?
"Once Again" is an adult visual novel about a man who is shot and killed. Instead of going to an afterlife, he instead is sent back to a year before his death, the beginning of his first year of college. His ultimate goal is to find out who killed him and why; however, with the memories of his past (or is it future?) year, he has to find it out without using his knowledge.
While the premise is dark, and it sure may seem dark and dramatic at first, I want to split the difference between comedy and drama. I want there to be lighthearted scenes a lot of the time, but have the game not be afraid to get dark and tragic when it needs to be.
2. When is the game releasing?
The prologue should hopefully be releasing within a month of this dev update. It's been a lot of work and my team has done an amazing job this past month. We just need to put together the finishing touches and polish and then let the game go for testing.
3. How many love interests are there?
While there are technically only 4 main girls- Autumn, Summer, Winter, and Haru, there are quite a few side love interests with their own side stories, while also still being involved in the main stories.
4. Will the side girls have paths/endings?
I believe a few of them will, but thats a "time will tell" Kind of thing.
5. How long will the story go?
Again, another time will tell thing. I want to tell this story, and I want to tell it with good pacing. So as I figure the story fully out, we will figure out how long it will be.
