Cloudedge 0.0.2 - Exploring flower magic

Mycoflora
A browser game made in HTML5

I've released a new version of Cloudedge!

My plan at first was to make a diverse combat system to rival Skyrim with melee combat, magic, and bows. I think I'm going to pivot to focus on just 1 or 2 types.

I want to explore the idea of consumable based magic and I'm planning on making that the main focus for combat on this project. This idea started with two inspirations. Old School Runescape is the only consumable based magic system I'm aware of, and my content creation partner, Code807, suggested that more systems like that should exist. The other inspiration is flower picking in Skyrim. I've been replaying Skyrim to get a perspective on RPG games and I'm fascinated that stopping and picking flowers is an important mechanic to actually progress through the game.

So I want to combine these two ideas. What if every flower decorating the world is pickable, and flowers are used as consumables for the magic system? So every time you cast a spell, it consumes the item you get when you pick flowers. Then when you start to run low on "ammo", you take a break from questing and combat to go for a stroll and pick flowers.
