Development is slowing down for a while - I’m too busy with other things and it’s gonna be that way for the forseeable future - but I like where this project is going and I’m in it for the long haul.
I’m spending most of my dev time in August on housekeeping and regrouping -
I’m gonna continue dev streaming when I have the time/energy for it. I like the focused timeslots - like a real job - and the chat. You get to know people better than you do on social media. I’m on Rumble, Odysee, and maybe Bitchute - just random evening/weekend streams for now.
v0.2.2 - Gameplay push (outlined in last post). Includes the ‘sandbox projects’ above.
v0.2.3 - Artwork push - environment, shaders, promo art…
I’m also making an effort to record my guitar version of the Bach F minor concerto (Amityville Horror intro music) in time for this Halloween. A nice, dark, recognizable soundtrack for the title screen. Later I’ll record some shorter original tracks in that style, kinda like Lucio Fulci…
I’ll try to finish the demo over the winter when I normally have more time. It has to be fun/impressive enough.
The logical next step is early access, sales/donations, and building a complete modest-sized RPG in this engine. But first I’ll probably spend a few months attempting to port the demo to a semi-custom engine.
Codename - Agenda 1742 or Synthnostate: Salem
Another vampire sim essentially taking place in H.P. Lovecraft’s New England (as in The Case of Charles Dexter Ward - NOT his Cthulu universe). Same engine, same overall lore. The alien underground city from Synthnostate: Crusaders might even be in it, coming full circle.
I could start a demo fairly soon but I envision a few years of historical background research and lore development before I can really get into it.
I don’t think I can handle all the artwork on my own but I’m coming up with some ideas - like a snow-covered winter landscape - to keep the workload/budget under control.
