Progress report (11/08/24)

Pulsatio Cordis (FULL GAME)
A downloadable visual novel for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Hiya. So it's been a year...

To everyone who's been worried about the game being abandoned, have no fear -- I'm still working on it (if very slowly)! I've made a lot of progress art- and script-wise.

Unfortunately, life has also been insanely busy! In order,  between June 2023 and now, I :

  • Graduated university with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science
  • Got my first full-time job
  • Started learning to drive! My restricted license test is fast approaching...

With work taking up most of my time, I pretty much only have evenings and weekends to work on the game, which has ironically made me more motivated to work on it... (And yes, I am typing this on a Sunday while dreading my early start tomorrow.)

Now let's move on to what you clicked for!

Progress Report

endings.rpy: Six major endings planned.

Endings 1 - 4:  CGs and script all done!

Also, because I love to torture (read: build up even MORE anticipation for) you guys, below is a list of the ending names and their current status!

Warning: If you want to play the game COMPLETELY blind, I would advise you to skip to the "What's next?" section. Some of these names may be a bit spoilery...

Ending 1 (His Happy End): CG and script all done!

Ending 2 ('Til Death do We Part):  CG and script all done!

Ending 3A and 3B: (Cold Feet / Disciplinary Action):  CG and script all done!

Ending 4 (In Hindsight):  CG and script all done!

Ending 5 (La Chance):  CG and script in progress.

Ending 6 (TRUE END): CGs and script not started yet.

I was considering adding a WIPs section to this devlog, but since I'm currently working on the endings...

What's next?

This will hopefully be the home stretch! My current to-list is:

  1. Finish the script and CGs for the final 2 endings.
  2.  Re-do the UI and make it look more interesting (as you can see in the demo, I'm not the most professional at UI design...)
  3. Make an Endings section which would allow you to track all obtained endings.
  4.  Change up the itch.io page to reflect the finished game.
  5. Upload the finished game!

Unfortunately, given how busy life is at the moment, I still can't make any promises about a release date. Hopefully my to-do list will give you an idea of how things are going!

Anything else?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 1K FOLLOWERS!!!! AND 12K (nearly 13k!) DOWNLOADS!!!!!

I seriously cannot comprehend the amount of support this game has gotten. I can't thank you guys enough for sticking with me through development.

I'm so sorry that my updates are so sporadic -- life is a lot for me right now. But please know that I'm still thinking about Pulsatio Cordis, and that I still very much want to see the full game through to the end.

Seriously, I have drawn and written so many pieces for this game that it's not funny (but unfortunately, many of them are massive spoilers...).

Which is why I've been thinking...

Have a wonderful day xoxo

Until next time,

- Lucia.
