Hi
So the game released exactly a week ago, and the response has been mixed. I never expected the game to get as many sales as it did so it definitely has me motivated to continue creating games. I just know that if I had made no money on the game I would be deeply stressed about what to do with myself following the launch. I'm currently working on a mobile version of the game but should be on the stores pretty soon for free. Most the negativity towards the game is warranted and I wish I tested the game more with people who had no idea about the game. this is something to note for future projects which should lead the game in a good direction. As it was my first Steam release, I count it as a success and am looking forward to moving on.
The Future
I have a game idea in the back of my mind which I want to put so much more effort. I feel as though Fish Hero was more of a trial run following a trend nevertheless I'm happy with the result. I'm thinking of a new climbing game based on a glacier where the main character falls down a crevasse. it'll be another multiplayer game where you climb with your friends but will have a more serious tone than Fish Hero. Also planning the climbing mechanics to be foddian-like. Next week I'll be taking part in the GMTK jam so I'm looking forward to perhaps using this idea if it works well with the theme.
